Hoof Stands

Stephen E. O'Grady, DVM, MRCVS

Through all my years of practice as a farrier and a veterinarian, I never paid much attention to hoof stands until I was converted by Kevin Keeler and his Hoofjack. This unique hoof stand is durable, lightweight and has two interchangeable inserts which can be adjusted to various heights. One insert is a straight post with a rubber cap for working on the outer hoof wall and the other insert is designed in the form of a cradle or a sling. Here the dorsal hoof wall rests in the sling allowing work to be performed on the bottom of the foot. This sling has been a great asset to our therapeutic work as it allows the horse to remain in a quiet, relaxed position with its hoof off the ground for extended periods of time not to mention the ease at which the clinician is able to work. The wide base on the stand makes this stand extremely stable. For further information, please click on the logo to visit their website.
