Additional Services

This service has become increasing popular due to the questions or concerns with the horse's feet or radiographs of the feet that arise during a prepurchase examination. These questions often involve hoof conformation / hoof structures, hoof wall defects or previous disease. A second opinion can often help determine whether this is a suitable horse to purchase for the purpose intended and whether the animal will be able to withstand the rigors of competition in a given discipline. The second opinion can also provide insight into how best to maintain the horse's feet for longevity and maximum performance.

Digitals pictures of the front, side and solar surface of each foot along with the radiographs of the feet can be sent to Dr. O'Grady for his evaluation. In certain cases depending on the problem with the feet or the value of the horse, Dr. O'Grady will travel to personally examine the horse.
